43 countries participated, where 63.1% of the participants were domestic buyers and 36.9% were international buyers, demonstrating the strong support and commitment of the tourism industry to the destination of Acapulco.

He also reported that as participating countries, Mexico stood out with 63.1%, the United States with 10.8%, Colombia with 7.9%, Spain with 4.1%, and others with 14.1%.

In addition, in the Tianguis Turística México 2024, a volume of sales from business transactions is estimated at 438 million pesos, making it clear that this volume represents 10% of the respondents, since the rest decided to keep it confidential.

Additionally, during the week of the Tianguis Touristic in Acapulco, there was an increase of 13.2 percentage points in hotel occupancy with the 9,500 rooms available so far, reaching 79.6% occupancy, as well as a consumption per stay of 73.2 million pesos and a consumption for tourist services of 938 million pesos.

The tourism products that were most offered are: cultural tourism with 49%, nature tourism with 43%, adventure tourism with 41%, sun and beach tourism with 37%, gastronomic tourism with 33%, among others, which confirms the tastes and trends of the new tourist profile and which is significantly adapted to the new products offered by the different tourist destinations in Mexico.

The most preferred tourist destinations among buyers were: Cancun 49%; Acapulco and Mexico City, each with 46%; Los Cabos 43%; Riviera Maya 42%; Oaxaca 40%; Puerto Vallarta 38%; Riviera Nayarit 33%; Guadalajara and the Magical Towns, each with 32%.

Regarding the evaluation of exhibitor profiles by buyers, 40% rated it as “excellent” and 42% as “very good”. Exhibitors evaluate the Tianguis Turística de México in its 2024 edition held in Acapulco, as excellent by 40%, and as very good, 38%.

Accompanied by the Secretary of Tourism, Santos Ramírez Cuevas, representing the governor of Guerrero, state secretaries of tourism and presidents of associations and chambers of the sector, Torruco Marqués highlighted that just five months after the impact of hurricane Otis on the port of Acapulco, Guerrero, the results achieved at the Tianguis Turistico Mexico 2024 were successfully obtained at this important tourist fair, and although they are not comparable with other editions, the objective is to demonstrate that Acapulco is alive and reborn to become a international destination.

He pointed out that this was the fourth edition of the inclusive Tianguis, where, following the instruction of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, “no one is left behind, no one is left out”, and he undertook to deliver the operating manuals and suggestions for continued inclusion in the different types of the Tianguis, including the next edition of the Tianguis Tourism, the Tianguis of Magical Towns to be held in September in the Magic Town of Orizaba and at the Tianguis International in its third edition to be held in the month of June in the city from San Antonio, Texas.

As part of this great event, the relay was changed so that Baja California will host the 49th edition of the Tianguis Turística to be held in 2025, and that with the governor of the Marina del Pilar entity Ávila Olmeda and her Secretary of Tourism, Miguel Aguiñiga Rodríguez, the quality and significance of this great tourist festival are assured.

Baja California is the first international tourism market to the country, so it will be very important to receive the tourist market.
