With the objective of boosting the arrival of international tourists, Create Tourism held the second edition of Meet Mexico Road Show 2025, a strategic meeting that brought together representatives of the Mexican tourism sector with industry professionals in Dallas and Houston, Texas.
From September 9th to 13th, 191 buyers, tour operators, airlines, operators and tourism associationsparticipated in sessions designed to publicize Mexico's attractions and generate high-impact business opportunities. According to the company, these cities are concentrated close to 30% of direct flights to Mexico from the United States, standing out for a constant visitor profile, with high purchasing power and travel frequency.
The format of the Road Show included destination presentations, structured networking sessions and tourism product exhibitions, facilitating new strategic alliances that consolidate Mexico as a preferred destination for international tourism. Last year, Dallas represented 13.81% and Houston 14.48% of direct flights to Mexico, figures that reflect the relevance of these markets.
“After the enthusiasm shown by buyers during our first tour in Chicago and Toronto, we are sure that the participation of Mexican exhibitors in Dallas and Houston will be just as successful and will contribute significantly to Mexico's international promotion towards 50 Tourist Tianguis 2026 in Acapulco, Guerrero”, he said Rodrigo Hurtado, Chief Operating Officer of CreaTurismo, in a statement.
The Consul General of Mexico in Dallas, Luis Rodríguez Bucio, and Miguel Aguiñiga, head of Sectur's Innovation, Sustainability and Professionalization Unit, also participated in the event, underlining the institutional commitment to the international promotion of the country.
The next cities where the meetings of Meet Mexico Road Show They are San Francisco-Los Angeles, October 7-11, and Montreal-New York, November 10-14.
Advancement of international tourism in Mexico
According to data from the Inegi, the arrival of international tourists in July increased 6.1%, from 3.9 to 4.2 million travelers. The growth of tourists by land stands out (15.7%) and border hikers (22.6%). However, air visitors, who represent more than 80% of tourist spending, showed minimal progress of 0.7%.
As for the foreign exchange spill, this was 9.2% up from the same month last year, going from 2.4 to 2.7 billion dollars. In the first seven months of the year, Mexico received 27.7 million international tourists(+7.2%) and accumulated revenues for 21.681 million dollars (+6.8%). Air tourists added 14 million (-2.5%), border workers 11.2 million (+19.5%) and cruise passengers 6.6 million (+9.5%).
El Meet Mexico Road Show 2025 not only does it promote the promotion of destinations, but it also strengthens the strategy of Create Tourism to attract visitors with high purchasing power and consolidate Mexico as a global benchmark for tourism.
