Mérida City Council strengthens ties with Viva Aerobus and Playa del Carmen

The mayor of Mérida, Cecilia Patrón Laviada signed two collaboration agreements with Viva Aerobus and the mayor's office of Playa del Carmen within the framework of Tianguis Turistico Mexico 2025, held at the Baja California Center headquarters.

Patrón Laviada celebrated these alliances with great enthusiasm under the banner of seeking more opportunities for Meridanos and tourism.

The municipality indicated that with Viva Aerobus, 17 more domestic and international destinations were specified. Accompanied by Walfred Castro, the airline's director of corporate communication, they signed the agreement and highlighted working together for greater reach.

“The idea is to promote these destinations in Mérida through Viva from the Visit Mérida area, which is a permanent visitor campaign for our city and what we want is for full planes to come,” said the municipal mayor.

It was also highlighted that the Yucatecan capital has many natural, historical, gastronomic and cultural attractions that welcome visitors with open arms.

In this regard, it also strengthened ties with the mayor's office of Playa del Carmen through a collaboration agreement to promote both destinations and create connections between visitors.

The Municipal President together with the Secretary of Tourism of Playa del Carmen Estefanía Hernández held a pleasant meeting, where they highlighted the main attractions of both cities and signed the collaboration agreement to strengthen cultural and tourist exchange.

In this way, the mayor continues with meetings at the Tianguis Turística from the Yucatán Pavilion, together with companies and the state government.
